After twenty-three years in their old home, Terry and June prepare to move to their new house in Purley, but just before leaving, their daughter Wendy turns up. She tells them that she has left her husband Roger, believing he has been having an affair with his secretary, Marjorie.They are just about to leave again when Roger arrives. He then explains how he was just looking after Marjorie, going with her for the odd trip to the cinema and theatre, while her husband was away doing a training course in Germany.
